Jamaica Me Cray Cray
Book It and They Will Come!
“Hey, Bae would you like to go to Jamaica with me?” I asked her not too long after “The Surprise NOT so Secret Date” (One day after, to be exact…). This was definitely a spur of the moment decision for me. I had manifested (prayed) in a previous life (first marriage…) an adventure such as this with exactly my PERSON! I seriously had no idea specifically who that person was, but I knew who I wanted them to be; romantic, light-hearted, kind, giving, funny, a little spontaneous, and could handle immature humor from time to time (ok, a lot of the time). Seriously, my whole adult life was chock full of Catholic, “St John the Worker”, responsibility, be on your best behavior non-spontaneous toes at all times, or else! So, as you can imagine doing something like this was way out of my comfort zone, but what I have learned is that in order to get the most out of your relationship, and your life, sometimes we very much need to step out of our comfort zones and say “YES!”. Why the hell not! I want to thank my person as well for being the coolest and all the described adjectives above, and saying yes to this four-day five-night Caribbean getaway! Best teammate EVER!
FYI, this does not have to be an international trip. It could be to a national park, your favorite small town/city (or big town/city), whatever or wherever just book it and they will come! Oh, and step out of your comfort zone and follow our 1st and always #1 Rule, Thoughtfulness…
See Steps I took for the Jamaica Me Cray Cray Date:
Made sure our passports were in good order and up to date
Picked the dates-coordinated our time off from work/responsibilities
After speaking with a friend, I booked the trip on Southwest Vacations. They took care of everything from round-trip flights, resort (All inclusive), transportation etc. Super easy and trustworthy. “Keep it Simple, Stupid”. It’s always the thought that counts…
Packed carry-on bags only (save time and $$). Beach and casual attire. Deflated volleyball & hand pump-You should bring whatever things you both could enjoy wherever you decide to go to i.e., pack of playing cards, frisbee, corn hole…
Jamaica takes U.S. dollars so I brought $200 total broken down into 100 $1’s and 20 $5’s for tipping and room service/cleaning-wherever you go it never hurts to have cash for tip $
That’s it. It’s pretty simple when we just say “YES” and step outside of our comfort zones. Worse thing that can happen is you have a new EXPERIENCE!!
