Book a private cooking class with a local chef in your area. Not only will you get a fantastic meal you will have a fun date and bonding experience with your partner. Oh, and you just might learn a new skill or life hack in the kitchen…
Steps for setting up this fun date:
Search the internet for a local private cooking class. Make sure your location services are turned on and type “private cooking class near me” in your search bar. Or, you can check out free sites like Thumbtack.com or cozymeal.com…
Select the chef/class that best accommodates your needs. Some will offer to come to your home or you may find one that will host you. Our chef hosted us and it was easy with no clean up afterwards!
Prices vary depending on the type of meal you would like, hosting yourself or having the chef host you, and the experience of chef/class you choose (Ours accepted Venmo, but some may prefer cash. They will let you know when you book, but be prepared just in case). We are meat eaters who happen to love a good steak so we chose filet mignon as our entrée, but the private chef we selected was still attending culinary school so her fees were not as high as more “seasoned” options.
Dress comfortably because this is a hands-on experience. Our chef provided us with a variety of chef coats/apron, but feel free to bring your own.
Also, if you are being hosted feel free to bring your favorite choice of alcohol. Just be sure to ask ahead of time if it is ok. Most will allow it, some may offer their own for pairing purposes (and extra $), but either way ask ahead of time so you are prepared…
